How to prepare
your cup, made slowly
Watch how Gizelle prepares ceremonial cacao at home.
Using a sharp knife, gently chop the cacao into smaller pieces. They do not need to be perfect, just small enough to melt smoothly.
- i. Add your preferred strength to your favourite cup.
- ii. Pour over a small amount of hot, not boiling, water.
- iii. Blend until smooth and velvety.
- iv. Top up with more hot water or your favourite plant-based milk.
- v. Finish with honey, cinnamon or a pinch of cayenne, if you like.
- i. Add your preferred strength to your portable blender.
- ii. Add cinnamon, honey or your favourite spices.
- iii. Pour in a splash of plant-based milk and secure the lid.
- iv. When you’re ready, top up with hot, not boiling, water.
- v. Blend until smooth and velvety.

- iii. Warm gently over a low heat, keeping it below boiling.
- iv. Whisk continuously as the cacao melts until smooth and velvety.
