My Journey into Sound Healing and Sound Baths in London

When I look back, it feels as though sound healing was always calling me — gently guiding me, waiting for me to listen. Before sound, I had studied Reiki, fascinated by the way energy flows within us. Reiki helped me connect to my inner world, to my own emotions, energy, and subtle body. But there was still a feeling that I was meant to work with something bigger, something that expanded beyond my own body and touched the outer energy field around us all. That was when I first felt the pull of sound.

At the same time, I had already begun exploring cacao — not as chocolate as most people know it, but in its ceremonial form. Drinking cacao during ceremonies opened my heart and gave me the courage to follow intuition. It softened me into new possibilities. And in many ways, it was cacao that gave me the space and openness to let sound bowls come into my life.

The First Time Sound Bowls Spoke to Me

I can still remember the first time I heard sound bowls played in a sound bath. The vibrations seemed to move through me, not just around me. They reached into parts of my being that words and thoughts could not touch.

When the bowls were played, it was as though my heart stopped pumping for a moment — not in fear, but in awe. It was as though my body paused, suspended in sound, and I was shown a completely new way of experiencing energy. Reiki had taught me to work with flow inside myself, but this was different. This was energy moving through the air, the room, and directly into the core of my being.

After that, I couldn’t stay away. I started going to sound baths all around London. Each one was different. Some used crystal bowls, others used gongs or chimes. But the effect was always the same: a profound sense of calm, release, and connection. The sound moved me more deeply than I could explain. And slowly, a new calling started to emerge.

Sharing Sound Healing with Friends and Family

At first, I didn’t think about making sound healing a practice to share with others. I simply wanted to explore it for myself. But as I began to learn more about bowls, tones, and vibration, I naturally wanted to pass the experience onto my friends and family.

I began offering small sessions at home, letting loved ones lie down while I played the bowls. I watched as the sound waves rippled through them, helping them relax, open, and sometimes even release old emotions. People would often tell me that the sound reached places nothing else had, or that they felt lighter and more balanced after.

What touched me most was the way sound baths connected us. It wasn’t just about personal healing — it was a shared experience. Sound doesn’t just work on one person; it fills the room, it joins people together in the same vibration.

For a couple of years, I carried on like this, playing sound for friends and family. I never thought it would become more than that. It felt like a beautiful hobby, a gift I could share on occasion. But the more I played, the stronger the pull became. And eventually, I realised that sound healing was not just for me — it was my work.

The Birth of I AM BEING

When I finally stepped fully into sound healing, I knew I needed a home for it — a space where people could come not just to experience sound, but to explore a whole journey of wellness. That’s when I AM BEING was born.

The name came from the deep realisation that healing is not about doing more, but about simply being. In a world where we are constantly rushing, chasing, and striving, sound healing taught me the power of stillness. I wanted to create a place where people could reconnect with themselves — their inner energy, their outer energy, and their wholeness.

At I AM BEING, I bring together all the practices that shaped my journey:

  • Sound Healing and Sound Baths in London
Using crystal bowls, gongs, chimes, and other instruments, I guide people into deep states of rest and release. Each sound bath is a chance to let vibration do the work — easing stress, balancing energy, and creating a profound sense of connection.
  • Cacao Ceremonies
Working with Keith’s Cacao, a ceremonial-grade cacao, I hold heart-opening sessions that help people ground, reflect, and expand. Cacao has always been a medicine of connection for me — connection to the self, to others, and to spirit.
  • Reiki Healing
Reiki was my first step into energy work, and it continues to be at the heart of my offerings. It brings balance, clarity, and peace by allowing universal life force energy to flow where it is most needed.
  • Yoga
Movement is medicine too. Through yoga, I help people return to their breath, their body, and their natural rhythm. Together with sound and cacao, yoga becomes part of a holistic journey of well-being.

Healing Is a Shared Journey

One thing I’ve learned along the way is that this journey is as much for me as it is for you. Every time I hold a sound bath, I also receive healing. Every cacao ceremony softens me. Every Reiki session reminds me of the flow of energy. Every yoga practice grounds me.

We are all connected. When I share sound healing with you, it is not me “healing” you — it is us stepping into a shared vibration together. Your healing becomes mine, and mine becomes yours. That is the beauty of this work.

Sound has taught me that we are all part of the same symphony. When one person finds balance, the harmony extends outwards. And that is why I continue to do this — not only because it changed my life, but because it has the power to ripple through communities, families, and hearts.

Why Sound Baths Work

For anyone new to sound baths in London, you might wonder how lying in a room filled with sound could be so powerful. The answer lies in vibration.

Everything in the universe vibrates — including our bodies, our cells, and our emotions. When we are stressed, anxious, or unbalanced, our vibrations are often scattered or out of tune. Sound healing works by bringing us back into harmony.

The bowls, gongs, and instruments produce frequencies that interact with our own energy. These frequencies can slow down brain waves, guide us into meditative states, and even affect our nervous system. Many people report improved sleep, reduced anxiety, and a greater sense of peace after a sound bath.

For me, sound baths go beyond science. They touch the soul. They remind us of something ancient, something we’ve always known — that sound is medicine.

Sound Healing and Cacao Together

One of the most beautiful discoveries on my journey has been how well sound and cacao work together. Cacao opens the heart, and sound moves through the body. Together, they create an experience that is grounding, expansive, and deeply nourishing.

At I AM BEING, I often combine cacao ceremonies with sound baths in London, allowing participants to drop even deeper into the vibration. The cacao sets the intention, and the sound carries it forward.

Choosing Wellness, Together

Founding I AM BEING was not just about creating a business. It was about choosing wellness — again and again. It was about listening to the whispers of intuition, following the call of sound bowls, and trusting that healing is possible for all of us.

This journey continues every day. When you come to a sound bath in London with I AM BEING, you are stepping into that journey too. Together, we create a space where being is enough, where sound can guide us home, and where healing flows naturally.

That’s Me

Sound healing came into my life quietly, like a vibration waiting to be felt. From Reiki to cacao, from the first time I heard a bowl to the founding of I AM BEING, every step has been guided by energy — inner and outer.

Now, I share that journey with you. Whether through sound baths, cacao ceremonies, Reiki, or yoga in London, my hope is that you find what you need: stillness, release, connection, or simply a reminder that you are enough, as you are.

We are all sound, we are all energy, and we are all connected.

Being,

Gizelle Renee Xx
