The Seer at 40 and Its Place in Reiki, Cacao, Sound, and Yoga

A Milestone and a Discovery

This week I turned 40. Birthdays have a way of making us pause, don’t they? For me, this milestone felt like a doorway (and one I’ve been keen to walk through), a moment to look back at the journey that brought me here and to acknowledge the wisdom I’ve gathered along the way.

One of the greatest discoveries of my life so far has been connecting with The Seer, that quiet presence inside that watches without judgement, that sees the bigger picture, that knows who I am beneath all the noise.

It’s taken years of searching, of working with Reiki, ceremonial Keith’s cacao, sound healing, and yoga to truly find my way to The Seer within myself. And now, through I AM BEING in London, it’s become my calling to share spaces where others can also reconnect with that part of themselves.

What is The Seer?

The Seer is not something you learn, it’s something you remember. In yoga philosophy, it’s called Drashta, the witness who remains when the mind’s chatter quietens. For me, The Seer is the one who sat with me through the highs of joy and the lows of heartbreak and if you come to me sessions you know I am pretty brutally honest about my past, heartbreak and health. It’s the awareness that has never left, even when I felt lost.

At 40, I can say with honesty that finding The Seer has been a journey. In my 20s, I was caught in doing. In my 30s, I was searching way too much. Now, I am learning to simply be, to rest in that inner witness.

And this is what I share at I AM BEING: not just techniques or practices, but pathways to remember The Seer that lives within you too. That’s why I always end my sessions with ‘home is within you’ because it is. I promise.

The Seer in Reiki: Returning Home

When I first discovered Reiki, I thought it was about energy, and it is in many ways, but what struck me most was the stillness. Lying there, receiving, I began to notice the quiet awareness that observed everything: the warmth of my body, the emotions that surfaced, even the stories my mind told. That was my Seer.

Now, as a practitioner in London, I see the same in my clients. Their breathing slows, their shoulders drop, and suddenly there’s a softness in their face as if they’ve come home. Reiki doesn’t give you something you don’t have; it helps you uncover what was always there, your own Seer.

Turning 40 has deepened my practice. I feel less urgency to “fix” or “heal” and more reverence for simply holding space so people can rediscover the witness within themselves. Reiki is a reminder that you are not your stress, your pain, or your past, you are the Seer that watches it all. You are more than those things, so much more.

The Seer in Cacao: The Heart’s Vision

Ceremonial cacao has been one of my greatest allies in connecting with The Seer. Unlike coffee, which pushes us outward, cacao draws us inward, softening the heart and opening us to presence.

When I drink cacao — especially Keith’s Cacao, which we serve at I AM BEING, I feel my heart expand. Memories may rise, emotions may flow, but behind it all, there is a gentle witness watching with compassion. That is The Seer.

Now at the ripe and young 40, I realise that my relationship with cacao has been like a friendship that has guided me closer to truth. It has shown me that The Seer isn’t stern or distant, it is tender, forgiving, and deeply human.

When people join our cacao ceremonies in London, they often tell me they receive clarity or direction. I believe what they’re really experiencing is the voice of their Seer finally being heard. I don’t just think it, I see it.

The Seer in Sound: Dissolving into Awareness

There’s something about sound that strips everything away. In a sound bath, when the gongs, bowls, and chimes vibrate through the body, the mind has no choice but to let go.

I remember one particular sound bath I attended before creating I AM BEING, it felt as though I dissolved into the sound, and yet there was still a part of me quietly watching. That was my Seer reminding me I am not the noise of life; I am the one who witnesses.

Now, when I hold sound baths in London, I see people touch that same space. Some describe visions, others describe deep rest, but what matters most is that they encounter their own Seer, the unshakable awareness behind the experience.

I see sound as one of the simplest gateways. It bypasses the mind and delivers us directly into presence.

The Seer in Yoga: Stillness in Motion

Yoga has always been part of my path, but it wasn’t until my late 30s that I truly grasped its depth. In my younger years, it was about strength, flexibility, and postures. Now, it is about presence. I still love to run, box and lift but I prefer the slower pace of exercise mainly.

When I stand in mountain pose, I feel my Seer anchoring me. When I fold forward, I notice the witness gently observing the stretch. When I rest in savasana, it is The Seer who holds me in stillness.

Yoga has become less about what my body can do and more about how it helps me see. The Seer is what transforms yoga from exercise into a spiritual practice.

At I AM BEING, our yoga sessions in London are designed not just to move the body but to awaken the awareness within it. Because the real yoga happens not on the mat, but in the noticing, in the presence of The Seer.

Why The Seer Matters More Than Ever

If there’s one thing turning 40 has taught me, it’s that life is always changing. Bodies age, careers shift, relationships evolve. But through it all, The Seer remains. I’ve changed a lot, but my soul, it’s still there in the same way and character when I was born.

When we identify only with our thoughts and feelings, life can feel like a storm. But when we rest in The Seer, we become the sky; vast, calm, unshaken. This is the medicine we need in the fast pace of London: to know that we are not the chaos, but the presence that holds it.

The Seer matters because it gives us perspective. It helps us make choices from clarity instead of fear and triggers from our past. It allows us to show up more fully in our work, our families, and our communities. And it reminds us that we are already whole and what we need is already here within us.

The Seer at I AM BEING, London

Everything we offer at I AM BEING; Reiki, cacao ceremonies, sound baths, and yoga, is really an invitation to remember The Seer. These practices are different doorways, but the destination is the same: presence, truth, clarity.

My own journey to The Seer has been shaped by these practices, and now I share them so others can experience the same. Whether you’re seeking Reiki healing in London, a heart-opening cacao ceremony, a sound bath to reset, or yoga to ground, you will find here not just an event but an experience of returning to yourself.
