Cacao Sessions in London: What to Expect at I AM BEING

Looking for a cacao session in London? See how I AM BEING classes are structured, what is included, where sessions take place and how to book.

Searching for a cacao session in London can bring up very different kinds of events, from short tastings to longer classes combining cacao with sound, meditation or movement. If you are choosing your first one, the most useful information is practical: where it takes place, what is included, how long it lasts and what the cacao serving will be.

I AM BEING runs cacao sessions in South West London, including Clapham, alongside private and corporate sessions across London. Our events are designed to be easy to understand before you book, with clear descriptions of the cacao, the session flow and any equipment provided.

What is an I AM BEING cacao session?

An I AM BEING cacao session begins with ceremonial cacao and then develops according to the event format. Some classes focus on cacao education and tasting, while longer experiences can include guided breathing, meditation, journalling, gentle movement and a live sound bath.

The common thread is that the cacao is a shared starting point. We explain what you are drinking, where it comes from and how it is prepared, then guide the rest of the session in a clear sequence.

Where are cacao sessions held?

Our regular events are centred in South West London, with Clapham forming an important part of the schedule. I AM BEING also delivers one-off events at partner venues and can travel across London for private and workplace bookings.

Location information is always shown on the individual event page. Before booking, check the address, start time, finish time and whether you need to arrive a few minutes early.

What is included?

The exact contents vary by event, but a longer session may include an introduction to cacao, a prepared cup, guided breathing, meditation, journalling prompts, restorative or gentle movement and a sound bath using crystal bowls and chimes.

A shorter class may use only some of those elements. The goal is not to fit everything into every session. Instead, each event is designed around a clear length and format so participants know what they are booking.

What cacao do we serve?

I AM BEING serves its own 100% cacao from Flores Island in Indonesia. The cacao is grown within a network of family farms, then fermented, roasted and stone-ground. It contains no added sugar, dairy, flavourings or preservatives.

The finished drink can be prepared with water and, depending on the event, plant-based milk and simple flavour additions. If you have dietary questions, contact us before the session so we can explain the recipe being used for that particular event.

How long are the sessions?

There is no single standard duration. A cacao tasting can be relatively short, while a combined cacao and sound experience may run for 90 minutes or longer. Some I AM BEING ceremonies and extended sessions run for around three hours when the programme includes cacao education, guided practices, journalling and sound.

The event page will always state the duration. If you are new to cacao, choose based on the amount of time you genuinely want to give the experience rather than assuming a longer session is automatically better.

What should you wear?

Comfortable clothing is best, especially for sessions that include sitting on the floor, lying down or gentle movement. Layers are useful during a sound bath or longer period of rest. There is no requirement to wear yoga clothing.

Check whether mats, blankets and bolsters are provided. If the event needs you to bring anything, that should be listed clearly in the booking information.

Do you need experience?

No. You do not need to have tried ceremonial cacao, meditation, yoga or a sound bath before. The facilitator should explain each part of the session as it happens.

There is also no need to perform or share. If journalling prompts are offered, you can keep your writing private. If there is guided meditation, you can simply listen. If you need to change position during sound, you can do so.

Can you come with a friend or on your own?

Both are completely normal. Public sessions often include a mix of people attending alone, with a partner or with friends. The group format gives you a shared experience without requiring you to arrive with someone else.

If you would like something more personal for a birthday, gift or time with a friend, a private cacao session may be a better fit.

Are private cacao sessions available?

Yes. I AM BEING offers private cacao experiences for individuals, pairs and small groups. The format can be tailored around the booking and may include cacao, sound, guided relaxation, breathwork, gentle movement and journalling.

Private sessions are useful when you want a quieter environment, a specific date or a session designed around your group rather than a public timetable.

How do you choose the right cacao event?

Look first at duration, location and what is included. If you want to learn about cacao, choose an event with a stronger tasting or educational element. If you want a quieter evening, a cacao and sound session may suit you. If you want privacy or are organising a celebration, explore a private booking.

The best event is the one whose format is clear before you arrive. View the current I AM BEING dates to see upcoming cacao sessions in London and choose the one that fits your schedule.
